When making a search from the Modules Search or Horizontal Search, the search results page will take, by default, the same Joomla Menu Item ID as the page where the module was published.

Applying the correct Joomla Menu Item ID is very important for the Modules associations. For example, the Home Page of your website could display the search module as well as a slider module that you wouldn't like to keep in the pages of the booking process.

In order to apply a specific Joomla Menu Item ID to the search results page and to all the pages of the next steps, it is necessary to force the Item ID from the parameters of the Search Module.

Sometimes, it can be a good technique to create a "ghost menu" from the administrator section where you can add some links/pages that will never be displayed on the front-end website. It will be sufficient to not publish a Joomla Menu Module on any position of your Template, reading the links of this "ghost menu". Basically, such menus should only be used to have certain modules displayed on some pages of your website.
By creating a Joomla Menu Item on any menu, of type Vik Booking - Search Form, you will be able to force the Search Modules to apply that Menu Item ID. This way you can publish other modules such as sliders, onto all the pages, except for this one. This way, when making a search, the search results page and all the steps after, will display only the modules you wish to have displayed.

Forcing a Joomla Menu Item of type Vik Booking - Search Form in the Search Modules is also a good practice for avoiding issues when using the SEF Router for the URL Rewriting. The SEF Router can be enabled from the Configuration page of the extension and, if some pages of the front-end website are displaying the generic search View of the component, rather than the Details page of the Room or the Search Details page, it means that because of the Joomla Menu Item ID, Vik Booking was unable to parse the rewritten URL correctly.
By forcing the module to apply a Menu Item ID of type Vik Booking - Search Form, you can avoid these issues and the correct pages will be displayed when using the SEF Router.
