Hello, I followed the steps shown on this page for the translation of my site and admin panel, I replaced the corresponding ini files that are in English to Spanish, yet still appears all in English,. should I do to to see all translated into Spanish?

Hello,
replacing the English .INI language files with the Spanish translation is not the best solution even if you are willing to use only one language on your website. First of all your Joomla website should have a Spanish translation installed. Then you should have one language file translated into Spanish for the front-end of VikBooking (/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_vikbooking.ini) and another one for the administrator section of the program (/administrator/language/es-ES/es-ES.com_vikbooking.ini). From the Language Manager of the administrator section you can set the default language for the back-end and for the front-end.

Hello,

I'm going to respond to your questions:

1. With the Restrictions you can force the arrival day on a Saturday and by setting the minimum number of nights to 7 with the setting "Multiply Min. Num of Nights", the bookings will be always from Saturday to Saturday.

2. With the Special Prices task of the administrator section you will be able to set different prices on some seasons/holidays of the year for all your apartments.

Hello.
How can I configure the module to accept registration from "today".
When I check in calendar today date as check in date the module mark this:
Check-in for today no longer available, please select a different Check-in Date

How do I chage it to use the module for all day, today and next.
Thank you

[¿Cómo puedo configurar el modulo vikbooking para permitir reservaciones el mismo día? Al buscar fechas que incluyan el día de hoy, marca un error invitando a que hagamos una nueva busqueda con días siguientes al de hoy.]

Hello,
For the moment the system will not accept reservations for "today" if the current server time is later than the Check-in time that you have set in the Configuration page. So basically if your Check-in Time is 2pm, reservations for today will be accepted only before 2pm.
We will think of something for the next version of the program as we have received a lot of requests already.

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand this functionality.
We also want to disable the check-in time. Guest wants to make a reservations at any moment that day. Suppose I want to make a reservation late in the evening. Vikbooking says that not possible because it's past the check in time. Hopefully this wil be fixed soon. Best regards
Staff E4j
@Arthur: you should check what's the default Timezone of your server in case you are having problems with the reservations for today's date.
For the moment the system doesn't allow reservations for today if the current server time is after the check-in time. This is not an error but just something that we added on purpose, bookings are not accepted for today after the check-in time. A lot of our clients requested to disable this function so we will add a configuration setting in the new version of the extension.

I agree, indeed, this feature is really necessary to allow last minute booking. Changing the check-in time configuration to 23:59 is a workaround but messages to client about check-in time could result in confusion.

Hi,

it is possible to show in frontend a calendar with rooms availability, like in backend?

Staff E4j
Hi,

In the current version 1.3 of VikBooking it is only possible to show the availability calendar of each room. This is displayed in the Room Details page in the front-end. If you wanted to have a sort of a global overview of all the rooms like the back-end task, then for the moment it is not possible.
We will think of including a similar View in the next version of the program as we've received a few requests already.

Is it possible to set things such that check-in during a particular month can only be on a Saturday? I thought this was done through Special Prices, however, I can't get it to work.
Thanks

Staff E4j
Hi,
You can force the arrival day to a Saturday during a particular month with the Restrictions. The Special Prices are only used for altering the prices on some seasons/holidays of the year.
Richard Knight
Ahh....unfortunately that won't work for me as if I use Restrictions it will apply across all accommodation types (this estabishment has 3 types) and I only want it for one type. Shame...
Thanks for the quick reply.
Staff E4j
I understand. As you know, in the new version 1.4 of VikBooking it will be possible to apply the Restrictions only to certain rooms (accommodation types in your case).
Richard Knight
Absolutely....& I'm looking forward to it!

Hello
i have set 2 kind of rooms, single and double. I wold like that also the double are booking for single use but with a +20Euros. I have set in config roome min 1 adult and max 2 adult, now how i can set basic price and price for single use?

Staff E4j
Hello,
if your room from allows from 1 to 2 Adults then from the Edit page of your room you will be able to set a charge or a discount for the single and/or double usage of the room. That charge/discount will be applied to the basic rates that you have in the task Rates Table. It's up to you to decide whether your basic rates should be based on the minimum or on the maximum occupancy of the rooms because from the Edit page you will be able to apply a charge or a discount for any number of Adults that can occupy the room.

Hello,

Is it possible to not allow client to book for only one night?
Rooms reservation would be only available for at least 2 nights.
Thanks;

Staff E4j
Hello,

Yes, you can easily do that. From the Configuration of the program in the administrator section, tab Main Settings, Search Parameters, change the value of the setting "Minimum Number of Nights" to 2 and then from the Rates Table you should not have a cost for 1 night of stay.
That's it.
Altano
Unfortunately, I don't have this feature in Main Settings.
Can that be explained because I use v.1.2?
Staff E4j
Yes, that's why you don't have that setting in the Configuration. It was introduced in the version 1.3. Updates for VikBooking are free for all our clients so just click on the Account Manager and then on Free Updates to download your Update.
That setting will force the calendar to select at least 2 nights. In your older version 1.2 you can only have this restriction by not creating a cost for 1 night in the Rates Table.

Hi,
I have a question about Vik Booking Config.
1. Can I have in Rooms section option "Studio". Now I have only numbers which I can manage from Vik Administration but can I add "Studio" choice?

2. Can I disable children option? I only want to have Adults which I will rename... but in the Vik Administration I don't see where I can disable children option...?

Thank you in advance!
Best Regards

Staff E4j
Hi,
1. I think you should use the Categories and assign your rooms/studios into different categories then by creating a new Joomla Menu Item of type VikBooking - Rooms List you can filter the Category type.
2. From the Configuration of VikBooking, Search Parameters, you can disable the the setting "Show Children" so that nothing related to the Children will be displayed in the front site.
Please notice that some Configuration settings are saved in the php session so it'll take some time with the same browser before you will see the new settings being applied, usually around 15 minutes of inactivity. Use a different browser to see the new changes being applied immediately.

Hi, I disabled "Pay Entire Amount", to collect only 20% deposit and does not work, any suggestions.

thanks

Staff E4j
Hi,
It's probably because you are still seeing the old Configuration setting that is saved in the PHP session. Use a different browser to see the new Configuration settings being applied immediately or wait until the PHP session gets renewed.

Is it possible to/how can one change the labels for forms? Eg. change "Check in date" in the search module to just "Check in", or change "e-Mail" in custom fields into "email". Thanks!

Staff E4j
Hi,
Labels like "Check-in Date" can be changed from the .INI language files, just like the labels of the Custom Fields "e-Mail". Please remember that the search module has its own language file which is the following:
/language/en-GB/en-GB-mod_vikbooking_search.ini
While the language file of the component for the front site is the following:
/language/en-GB/en-GB-com_vikbooking.ini
You can find more details about changing the label of the Custom Fields in the Documentation page of VikBooking at this address:
http://www.extensionsforjoomla.com/documentations.html
If your website doesn't have multiple languages then you can just change the labels of the Custom Fields from the Administrator section.
Chris A.
It seems that /language/en-GB/en-GB-com_vikbooking.ini doesn't exist though? Couldn't find it, although the search module's file does.
Staff E4j
The default language en-GB should be available on any Joomla installation and it's really strange that the file en-GB.mod_vikbooking_search.ini exists and the one for the component doesn't. Please double check that directory and if you can see the program in English in the front site then it means the file exists. If the language file didn't exist, the front side of the program would be just language definitions like "VBSEARCHFORM"...
If you are going to translate the program into another language then I suggest you to use our .INI Language Translator to avoid syntax errors you might get when using text editors without a good syntax highlighter. You can find the .INI Language Translator by clicking on the Account Manager button.
Chris A.
Yes very strange it couldn't be even though a search turned up nothing. But I eventually managed to find it manually. My bad. It was just not alphabetically ordered hence overlooked. Thanks for the heads up wrt translating!
