Hello,

That error with the Horizontal Search module of VikBooking was fixed some months ago and it was only occurring on one Joomla version, probably with the one that you are using.
Please re-download the module from the same download link that you have received via email or also from the Answers Area - Extensions AddOns (I suggest you to search for it from the main page of the Answers Area).
Uninstall the module that you are using and re-install the new one that you've downloaded.

Hi :)

I'm working on settings on my VikBooking, but i can't find a solution for my problem and i really need your help, please.

I would rent my home weekly, and i need to have different rates in base of the single week.

I have forced the reservation on saturday and it seems working well.

The problem is about setting the different rates.
I have tried to set special prizes, but the first trouble is about the date: for example, I set the week from 5 to 12 of july with a charge of +7%, but when i try to set the second week, from 12 to 19, Vik says the date is valid, because the season already exists. I should set from 5 to 11, but it's incorrect, because people leave on 12, not 11.

So, please, wich is the best method to set:
• week 5-12 july: 750
• week 12-19: 800
• week 19-26: 850
and so on?

Thank you for helping in advance!
:)
Erica

Hi,

In your case you should have 3 different Special Prices that apply a different charge to the basic rates defined in the Rates Table. Having just one Special Price would not be enough because the charge to be applied seems to be different on some dates, for example the week that goes from the 12th to the 19th costs more than the week before and less than the week after.
For this reason you should have one Special Price that goes from the 5th to the 12th of July, another one for the week that goes from the 12th to the 19th and a third Special Price for the 3rd week.
To avoid the problem of overlapping special prices, just make them end one day before so 5th-11th, 12th-18th and 19th-26th.

Hi,

That error is thrown by the Joomla framework when VikBooking tries to send an email message.
The error has nothing to do with the Bank Transfer, the same problem would show up with any other method of payment and it looks like you are unable to connect to your SMTP server.
Unless you have the need of using the SMTP connection, you should try to disable it from the Joomla Global Configuration and use the PHP-Mailer as mail transport agent.

Thanks for the Repply.. i tryed to swith to phpmail.. the jommla´s contact form is working fine, but i am not receiving/sending confirmation email after reservation ( with smtp i did but erro screen appeared on frontend)
Staff E4j
That is very strange. However if you are not getting any error message when using the PHP-Mailer, then it means that the messages were delivered successfully otherwise Joomla would have thrown another error. You should check if those messages went to the spam folder.
I'm not sure which SMTP you were using but if you were receiving the email messages correctly then you should try to use a different SMTP. If the server was the one of your domain then you should show the error to your hosting company.

Staff E4j
Hi,

You must be using an old version of VikBooking because since the version 1.4 it is possible to apply the Restrictions to a range of dates and not only to a single month.
You can download the Update to the version 1.4 of VikBooking from the Account Manager - Free Updates page on our website. You will be asked to enter your Order Number to download it.

Hi,

I'm a little bit confused about adding the rates for my rooms.
The prices are different depending on the time of the year and I'm not sure how to configure that inside of vikbooking.

This is how my pricing needs to be for one room:
High Season
5th July – 2nd August
$575 per night = $2,875 for 5 nights

Shoulder Season
6th June – 4th July 3rd
August – 14th September
$440 per night = $2,200 for 5 nights

Low Season
15th September – 5th October
$385 per night = $1,925 for 5 nights
I have managed to add in price types, but I'm unable to set the dates for these price types?

How can I achieve this?

Thanks!
Aaron

Staff E4j
Hi,

You can easily set up your prices like that. The Types of Price should not be called "Low Season", "Shoulder Season" or "High Season", those should be the names of the Special Prices while your Types of Price should be called something like "Free Cancellation", "No Cancellation", "Breakfast Included" etc..and having just one type of price is sufficient.
Then from the Rates Table page of the administrator section you should enter the basic costs per night of your rooms, I guess the ones of the Low Season so $385 per night.
Those prices will be considered for the whole year but you can increase or decrease them on some seasons/holidays by using the Special Prices.
In your case you should have a Special Price called "High Season" and that should apply a charge of $190 per night. Do the same for your other season and the charge in that case will be of $55 per night.
It doesn't seem like you are going to need the "Value Overrides" feature but those would make the amount of charge/discount change depending on the number of nights.
For more details please take a look at those tasks in the administrator section of the demo website to see how we configured them.

Helo,
I have a problem setting up a room that have a supplement per children (max. 2 children) of +10€/night regardless of whether there are 1 or 2 children.
Is there any way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Staff E4j
Hello,
You should use the Options to do that. Create a new Option and tick the checkbox "Only for Children". Then you should make it always selected and the quantity should be 1 per Child. The cost of the Option should be 10€ per night and eventually you can also set a maximum cost for the Option.
After assigning the Option to your rooms, the supplement will be added automatically.

Hey, I have some weird situation ... for example, the base fair of one night is 100 and price remains same up to 5 adults, if you pick another adult, extra 20 will be added to 100 and so on - if i choose 5 adults, price 100, everything is fine, if i choose 6, price 120, everything is fine but if i choose 7, the price will remain same, 120, no extra 20 added.

hope you understand what i mean.

Staff E4j
Hi,
From your screenshot I see that the charge for 6, 7 and 8 Adults is the same. If you want to charge an extra 20 for each adult after the fifth then 6 Adults should apply a charge of 20, 7 Adults of 40 and 8 Adults of 60.
Right now in case there are 6, 7 or 8 Adults you are always adding a fee of 20.
Priitaron
Oh, its working, thank you very much :)

is there a falang content element for the custom fields?

Staff E4j
Hi,
No, we didn't make an XML file for the Custom Fields because those can be translated through the .INI language definitions. Just use a language definition as Title of the Custom Fields so that they will be automatically translated by Joomla.
You can find more details in the Documentation of VikBooking under the section "Custom Fields".

Hello, the configuration of the rooms have the following problem:

Room A: Up to 2 adults
Room B: Up to 2 adults and 1 or 2 children
When I search the room for 2 adults do not want to appear Room B option.
The room B should only be displayed when searching a room for 1 adult and 1 or 2 children or 2 adults and 1 or 2 children

Staff E4j
Hello,
If you don't want the Room B to show up in the search results when you are searching for a room for 2 Adults only, without children, then you should set a minimum number of total people (Adults + Children) for the Room B to a value higher than 2, I guess to 3. While the Room A should have that value set to 2.
The Minimum Number of Total People (Adults + Children) is a feature that was introduced in the version 1.4 of VikBooking. If you are running an older version, please download the Update from the Account Manager - Free Updates.
Designerabreu
I have the latest version (1.4) and tested the configuration report.
You are correct ... but ... if you search for 1 adult and 1 child (Adults + Children = 2), should appear the room and not show the B Room A. In short, rooms with option child should be shown only when search option with child and will not be shown in the remaining cases (Adults only).
Is it possible?
Staff E4j
Yes, that is possible. The Room B should have a minimum number of Children set to 1 so that if no Children are selected, the room won't be displayed.
Each Room can have a Minimum and Maximum number of Adults, Children and Total People. By setting up those values properly, you should be able to get what you want.

Hi!

I'm setting a property listing website up for my client.
We need to be able to list different properties at different prices, so for example property "A" needs to be $250 a night and property "B" needs to be $220.

I've read the documentation for it, however I don't quite understand how the Types of price section works. What does price attributes do?

In the rates table there's the option to set the price for the name of the type of price as well as the attribute. What does the attribute do?

How can I change the currency to AUD?

Is there a way to set it up so the date selection for the customer is similar to the one in the back end where you select the dates on the calendar rather than manually typing them?

Thanks!
Aaron

Staff E4j
Hi,
You don't need to use the Price Attributes on your Types of Price. Those are values that never affect the cost of the properties per night and some of our clients use them to give information about how many days in advance they should cancel a booking. For example if you offer a type of price with Free Cancellation, the attribute of that type of price could be something like "within days" and on any cost per night of the Rates Table task you could specify the number of days within the cancellation is accepted. If you don't need anything like that just don't use the Attributes of the Types of Price just like we did on our demo website.

You can change the currency symbol to Australian Dollar from the Configuration of the program, just remember that some configuration settings are saved in the PHP session so you won't see them being applied right after saving with the same browser.

When the input boxes for the check-in and check-out dates get the focus, the jQuery UI calendar should be displayed for selecting the desired dates and if that's not happening to you then it's because you have a Javascript error. As you can see from the Documentations page on our website, you should be able to solve those errors by disabling the setting "Load jQuery" from the parameters of all your modules like mod_vikbooking_search, mod_vikbooking_horizontalsearch etc...
