Hello -

I'm almost ready to publish the new site with Vik Restaurants working for take-away ordering! I can't figure out why my $1.00 delivery charge, in configuration, is not showing on my ordering. The order still says Delivery (Free!) in the Service box where you check off Delivery or Pickup.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much -

Heidi

Hello Heidi,

you should take a look at the "Free Delivery With" setting in the Take-Away configuration of VikRestaurants.

This setting is used to remove the delivery cost every time the total cost of an order is equals or greater than the specified amount.

If you need to apply always the delivery cost, you have just to specify an unreachable value for this option, like 99999999.

After saving the changes, remember to press also the Renew Session button to apply immediately the new settings.

Best Regards
Matteo

Excellent - thanks! Worked perfectly. Is there a way to make the button (I've renamed it "Go To Cart") show up anywhere but the bottom of the menu?

Hi, i have an issue with WORKING SHIFTS. I utilise this but the problem is that is does not differentiate between days. For example on Monday i may be open from 12-3 and 5-9 but on Saturday I might be open 12 - 9, the system does not allow for a different shift schedule for differrent day. Please let me know. Regards. Matt

Hi,

if you have different working times for one ore more week days, you have to combine the working shifts with the special days.
In this way you will be able to define a different shift to each week day.

Please, try to see the following video tutorial to understand how you can reach this kind of solution:

Hi, I wanted to ask you how did you achieve to make the Takeaway Menu follow the window scroll, I've been trying to achieve this but I supposed I need to use JQuery to set the top-margin?

This is the link where I saw it

Hi,

if you want to allow the Take-Away cart module to follow the scroll of the page, you have just to edit the parameters of the module from the back-end.
You should open the Take-Away cart module and setup the parameters below:

- "Module Class Suffix" = cart-suffix (leave a blank space before this text)
- "Follow Page Scroll" = YES

In this way your take-away cart should be configured to follow the scroll of the page.

Hi,

basically to give the access to the Live Map page to your employees, you have to create new operators from the administrator.

An operator have to be assigned to a certain Joomla user ID and the value "Enable Login" have to be YES.

Then the operator will be able to access in the Live Map page in the front.

Hi there and thanks for your prompt answer - I have set up 2 users with joomla IDs but I dont appear to have a "log in" option at the front end of the compoment ??
Matteo E4j 1-11-15 14:52
Have you already published the menu item Tables Overview in the front-end?
To do this you have to create a New Menu Item from the main joomla menu in the admin and to choose the Item Type as "Tables Overview".

Hi Oliver,

you can see the list of the changes from the CHANGELOG at the download page: http://extensionsforjoomla.com/component/vikfree/?update=vikrestaurants

You can also check our demo to see point by point how the component is changed.

Basically the most important features are:
- Live Map: management tool for your employees
- Restaurant Menus: interactive menus with sections and products
- Selectable menus: your customers can pre-select a menu during the Find-A-Table step
- A lot of helpful tools in the administrator

This is my first time using VikRestaurants, although I have worked with other shopping cart programs. I assumed that the configuration is similar to other carts, but I'm obviously wrong.
I am struggling to get the Take-away menu section running. The configuration seemed simple. I created a new menu and populated it with an item and several attributes. I created a menu item and wen to the front end to see it.

I got nothing but this message "No Menus found for the selected date & time."

I am using Joomla 2.5.19

A have searched the answers area to no avail. Can somebody tell me what I'm missing?

Your help is appreciated.

Hello,

the answer is simple, you have published the wrong menu item on your Main Menu. You have insert the page Menus List instead TakeAway Reservation Form.

All that you have to do is to change the type of the menu item into "TakeAway Reservation Form".

Thank you! I knew it must be something simple. However, I can't seem to locate that setting in the configuration area ( or anyplace else, for that matter).

On the site: http://www.extensionsforjoomla.com/livetemplates/index.php?group=vikrestaurants
i see on the left side 'ADV Left' and 'Our speciality' boxes.
They are standard Joomla modules or some extra cost vik-extensions?

Hi,
the modules that you see on the left side of the demo website for the template Restaurants are just custom HTML modules, so standard Joomla modules. VikRestaurants comes with two modules, the restaurant-reservation search module and the take-away cart module.
Menus can be listed through the component view Menus List.

Is it possible for a user to order a take-away menu without creating a customer account (no sign in) ?

Hi,
VikRestaurants never requires the users to be logged in so your customers will not have to sign in before placing a take-away reservation.

Hello, an other question is, if it is possible to integrate your module with online payments besides Paypal, such us Visa or Mastercard.

Thanks

Yes, the payment framework of VikRestaurants can be extended and it supports any kind of payment gateway. You just have to create a php file for sending the payment information to your bank and processing the response.
You can find more details in the Documentations page.

Hi, Could you tell me if it is possible to add an image to the tables, instead of the rectangles or the squares.
I am working on a proyect and my client wants the tables have own images, so if this is possible in your module I will definitely buy it, because it has all the features I need.

Hope your answer ASAP.

Thanks in advance.
Regards

Hi,
You can only give the tables a custom background color, it is not possible to use a background image unless you don't set it via CSS. As you can see from the demo website, tables can have different widths and heights so you could use different images as background. The only thing is that this should be done with the CSS file of VikRestaurants.
