Hello,
we have 19 identical rooms in our hotel, therefore I have 2 questions:

1. Is it possible to copy an existing room, so I don't have to create them all manually?

2. When the customer searches a room, we just want to offer him one of the free rooms as they are all the same and it would be not so nice to list all available rooms for his selection.

Hello,
I believe that you should simply create one Room Type so just one room, and set the number of units available to 19. This way it will be possible to book your room up to 19 times on the same dates.
Ideally you should have more rooms only if the type changes (Single, Double, Triple, etc..) or if the costs per night are different.
If you have 19 identical rooms then I think this solution will work better for you.

Thanks for your quick help.
One more question in the Billing Information in the email-field there is already the admin's email as deafault value - I want that field as all other fields empty because I want the customer's email to be filled in there and this problem might confuse them.

And last question for today - I promise ;)
We have a general price for Monday until Thursday and another one for the Weekend. Do I fix these two price categories in "Special Prices" and if a customer books a whole week, does the system automatically take into account these two price categories?

The issue with the field for the email address being populated is only caused by the fact that you are using the same Joomla user for completing another reservation. You were probably logged in on your website and so the system filled-in automatically the field for the email address. Of course this will not happen to other users.

About the prices, yes, you should increase the costs for the weekend by using the Special Prices.

Hi,
is there the possibility to "reserve" the rooms with a Standby status?
At the moment I can receive more than one reservation for the same period, but I need to "close" the reservations in Standby status, even if they are not Confirmed yet.

Hi,
The Pending Bookings with status "Stand-by" will only keep your rooms as "locked", not available, for the amount of minutes defined in the Configuration page with the setting "Waiting Minutes for the payments".
After those minutes will be expired, if the booking hasn't been paid, the room(s) will become available again. That configuration setting is useful for payments via credit cards but if you are using money transfers or other offline payment options then you should probably set the status to Confirmed and if you don't receive the payments within the standard 3-5 working days, you can remove the bookings manually from the back-end.
The status of the bookings is given by the payment option chosen and you can adjust it with the setting "Auto-Set Orders to Confirmed" from the Edit page of your payment option.

Hi,
No themes are installed by default as you have noticed but you can easily create your own theme to override the default Views without modifying the original files.
To start creating a theme, you simply need to create a folder that will contain all the override files for the Views.
For example, you can override the View "Rooms List" with a theme by copying the following file:
/components/com_vikbooking/views/roomslist/tmpl/default.php
to:
/components/com_vikbooking/themes/mytheme/roomslist/default.php
where "mytheme" is the name of your theme that you will have to choose from the Configuration. This way you will be able to modify the output of the View "Rooms List".

I use Vikbooking for a hotel with 22 rooms and 5 category, all works fine in two languages. But when a group call me by phone to rent the all hotel for a period or when i want to close for a day, i have to reserve each 22 rooms one by one to reserve/close the reservation for this period ? Do i have other solution to quick close réservation ?

Hello,
For the moment, the bookings received over the phone or in any other way should be registered from the task Calendar of the back-end and if a room is no longer available, this should be set to "Closed". You could also book multiple rooms from the front-end and then modify the booking from the administrator section to speed up the closing process.
In the next version of the program we are going to introduce a new function that will let the administrators shut down the reservations for some days of the year like if the Hotel was closed or fully booked.

Hello,
Yes, that is possible. You can easily create the prices per night for your houses from the Rates Table page of the back-end. Then you can adjust these prices on the weekends and on some periods/seasons of the year by using the Special Prices.
If you take a look at the administrator section of the demo website, you will see how we configured the Rates Table task and the Special Prices. You should have one to adjust the weekend prices knowing what's the base rate for 2 or 3 nights that you have in the Rates Table. Then with other Special Prices without any week-days filter, you can increase or decrease the default prices on some periods, holidays or seasons of the year.

Thank you, but i ask a wrong question. I need reservation for a weekend = 2 nights, midweek (from monday to friday ) = 4 nights and a week = 7 days. Reservations for 5 or 6 days be not available.

Oh okay I see. If you do not enter any costs for 5 or 6 nights from the Rates Table then your bungalow will not be available for that number of nights. You should then use the Restrictions to allow Monday-Friday, Monday-Monday, Friday-Friday or Friday-Friday rather than Monday-Monday. You can use various combinations there.

I have changed and edited some prices but it's not effective in the front end.

Other thing is about the currency I want to be displayed. I put USD but it is still EUR in the front end.

What should I do ?

Hi,
Some Configuration settings are saved in the PHP Session so with the same browser you are not going to see them being applied until the Session gets renewed. You can speed this up by clicking the green button "Renew Session" from the Configuration page after saving the changes.
Any change made to the prices from the Rates Table page instead should be visible immediately in the front-end because those are always taken from the database, they are never saved in the Session.

Hi,
The email message for the customer is generated through a template file that you can find in the /helpers/ directory of the component VikBooking. In that file you can place any CSS style declaration by using a <style> tag.

One question: There is a "from" in the pricelabel in Detail view. I am missing this "from" in the pricelabel of list view (Menu-"Rooms list"). I would need that there too.

Hi,
The label "Starting From" should be displayed in the View VikBooking - Rooms List as well. If you enter a custom starting from price and text from the Edit page of your rooms then that label and price will be displayed otherwise the system will print the default label "Starting From" and the price will be automatically calculated from the Rates Table.
I think you simply need to enter the rates for you rooms from the Rates Table page of the back-end. Remember to create at least one Type of Price first.

I am experiencing the same issue. The "Starting From" text is missing from my Rooms List. All my rooms have the rate tables filled out. When you click on the Room Details link, the "Starting From" price appears there.

Please try to set a 'Custom Starting from Price' for each room from their Edit page. This should print the label 'Starting From' also in the Rooms List View and not only in the Room Details View.

I set the custom starting price in the rooms list as suggested, but still the Rooms List is missing the text "Starting From". I can so far only see it in the room details. Just for fun, I set my custom starting price different from my low season rate. That shows up in the Rooms List, but the text "Starting From" does not....

I want to create coupons but when I click on the "coupons" button, the message "No coupon found" appears.
I understood that creating coupons is possible by clicking on this button. How can I create coupons ?

Hi,
You need to click the New button of the toolbar to create new coupon codes. If there aren't any then that message will be displayed.

I tried to setup paypal but when I test it in the frontend I see this error: This recipient does not accept payments denominated in Can. Please contact the seller and ask him to update his payment receiving preferences to accept this currency.

As well the Paypal account as well in the configuration everything is in CAD

How do I solve this?

Hi,

You said that your Paypal account and the Configuration are now using the value CAD but if Paypal is returning that error then it's because you still have an old configuration setting saved in the PHP session.
In this case the easiest solution is to click the green button "Renew Session" from the Configuration page, first tab.
As you know, "Can" is not a valid currency name and Paypal must be getting it as an old session value.

I assume you clicked the button after saving the changes. PayPal should be taking that value "Can" from the configuration setting "Currency Name". You should double check the Configuration because it must be there.
