Hi,
Ideally the easiest way to do that would be copying the entire website to the new one for then adjusting the Joomla file configuration.php with the new database parameters. Copying the whole website includes the SQL dump beside all the files.
Instead, if you would like to make a fresh installation of VikBooking on the new website, you could export from the old site all the database tables by adding the clause DROP TABLE IF EXISTS with a phpMyAdmin interface for then importing the SQL dump on the new site. This way you will copy the whole database structure and you will not lose any data.

Use Abeeka Backup.
It will restore the files and database to your new location via abeeka kickstart

Your new site will be up and running in 5 minutes without the need to manipulating your configuration files ;)

Hope this help !

Hi
Most of my clients and myself are located in Greece but my server is located in the US.
The problem I face is that if a client makes a booking, on the back end I see the order time at the US time zone (some 9 hours behind my local time). This adds confusion and it is easy for my staff to do mistakes.
I try to correct this issue through Joomla server setting or by adding "SetEnv TZ Europe/Athens" in .htaccess but none of them succeeded.
How can I fix that issue on application level?
Regards

Hi,
I understand what you are saying and if PHP is unable to set a different Timezone for your Server then it's because of some restrictions. If Joomla is unable to set the Timezone to Europe/Athens then the only solution is to do it with a .htaccess file.
I see that you already tried to put the rule "SetEnv TZ Europe/Athens" in the .htaccess file but with no luck. Maybe you did not put that .htaccess file in the /administrator folder of your server or maybe your server just won't let you override the timezone via htaccess.
In that case I would suggest contacting your hosting company because they should be able to change the timezone from the php.ini configuration file for your host, with the date.timezone setting.

Hello,

Where is it possible to change the VBMCHECKIN and VBMCHECKOUT Label text from "Check-in Date" to just "Check-in" for the search module

I have checked the code and backend of the plugin and module, clearly I am missing something.

Thanks
Ian

Hello,
The search module has its own .INI language file. You can find those definitions in the following file:
/language/en-GB.mod_vikbooking_search.ini

I have doubts regarding input time setting and time of exit, in my case the guest can book for the current day! I am setting up the entry with the time 00:00 and the output at 12:00, but the system does not accept make a booking for the current day. He answers: Check for today is no longer available, please select a different check-in date. I've tried with other times, no work!

Hello,
Bookings for the today date are accepted only if the time is not in the past. This means that the check-in time must not be in the past compared to your current server time.
If your check-in time is at midnight then bookings for today will not be accepted as it's already afternoon.

Hello,
We offer discounts in the off-season, for example 25% Off 2-night stay. We accomplish this now by having a coupon code that the customer can enter when booking the room, with a Minimum Order entered so that they cannot use it for a one night stay and a date range to limit it to off-season. However, the customer has to be made aware somehow of the offer and its limitations. We have a page with available discounts shown, but it would be nice if the reduced rate would show up automatically during booking. In attempting to accomplish this, we have set up a Type of Price that is 25% off the regular rate. Now the questions:
1) how do we apply this Type of Price to particular date ranges?
2) how do we apply it to specific days of the week?
3) how do we exclude particular dates (may be same answer as 1)?

Our goal would be to apply the 25% Off year-round, but limited to Sun-Thurs during peak season and excluding specific event periods, for example Christmas week.

Hopefully there is a way this can be accomplished.
Thanks

Hello,
I don't think you should be using the coupon codes to give discounts in the off-season because the Special Prices can do it for you.
If you don't want the 25% discount to be applied on short bookings like 1 night stay then you can just use the Value Overrides function and set the generic discount amount to 25% but for 1 night of stay the value should be of 0%.
By using the Special Prices, the rates in the front-end will be reduced automatically and the users will not have to submit a coupon code to see the rates discounted.
Also, with the Special Prices it is possible to apply the discount (or the charge) only on some days of the week. However, you should not use this filter if the Special Price is applied to any week-day.
This should be what you are looking for so you should try to create a Special Price for your off-season and maybe some others that apply a charge during some festivities or high seasons.

Hi,
If you would like to block any bookings on a certain month then you should "close" all your rooms on those dates. You can do that from the back-end, task Calendar. Tick the checkbox "Close Room on these Dates" and bookings will not be available for that month.

Hello,

Is it possible to skip "Rooms" and go directly to "Options" from "Dates"?

Thanks

Hello,
It is possible to skip the Search Results page and go directly to the page for choosing the Type of Price and the Options, only if you submitted the Dates from the Room Details page. If you make a search from a generic search form like a Module then the Search Results will be displayed even if there is one room only.
You should use the booking form of the Room Details View or the Rooms List.

Hi,

How should I setup VikBooking, if I want the customer to leave a deposit by Paypal at the time of reservation, and then at least 30 days prior to arrival, pay the outstanding amount via paypal? How do I generally work with multiple payments in VikBooking?

Thanks,
Kristoffer

Hi,
In the Configuration page you will find a setting to define the deposit amount required to complete the booking. This can be either a fixed amount or a percentage value. Then, still from the Configuration page, you should make sure that the setting "Allow Multiple Payments" is enabled so that users will be able to pay the remaining balance by visiting the same link of the booking details page.

Hi,
If no reservations are being displayed in the Dashboard of the back-end then it's because their status is not Confirmed.
Only paid bookings will be displayed in the Upcoming Reservations box.

Hi,
The setting Auto-Set Order to Confirmed should always be disabled in payment gateways like PagSeguro where the payment response needs to be validated.
The reason why the status doesn't change to Confirmed, not even after receiving a valid payment, is probably given by the fact that you did not specify a "receipt URL" from your PagSeguro account. By logging into your account, you should be able to set that URL to something like this:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/administrator/components/com_vikbooking/payments/PagSeguroLibrary/pagseguro_return.php
VikBooking should be notified after that and the status of the orders will be changed to Confirmed.
