how do i make a fares table

Staff E4j
Hello,

You need to create at least one type of price first, Free-Cancellation for example.
Then from the Fares Table you can insert your rates per nights of stay.
You can also alter those prices per room occupancy from the Edit page of each room.
For more details please have a look at the documentation, every section of the Administrator is well explained.
Elden
okay. dose the prices change automatically when you have a special price and set date for eg. high season and low season
Staff E4j
Yes, you can alter those prices in some seasons of the year by using the Special Prices.

VikBooking looks terrific. I have just one question before I go ahead and purchase - our bookings manager is used to being able to move bookings between similar rooms. Having had a look at the back end I can't see that there is this option - is this something that you plan to support?

Hi,

As you've seen right now it's not possible to change the rooms booked of an order from the Administrator. This function will be available in the next version of the program that will be released in May.
The updater will be free and you will not lose your data.

Hi,

What code could I add to the default.php file in showprc folder in order to add a "Previous" and "Next" links for images? I would like to have this so customers don't have to open and close every image. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Unfortunately there's no code that you could add to that file for making a navigation through all the extra images of the rooms because VikBooking uses the native SqueezeBox of Joomla and it doesn't provide a navigation feature.
We should integrate a built-in Lightbox plugin inside VikBooking to enable the navigation through all the pictures of the rooms.

Some of our clients have edited the code for loading modules inside the HTML description of each room just like you do with the Joomla articles by using the syntax {loadposition POS.NAME} or {loadmodule MOD.NAME}.
Of course this requires a module for creating slideshows or galleries.
It's a kind of a hack to the code but the next version of VikBooking will probably come with this feature.

This is what you could do to that default.php file:
Around the line 114 you will find something like this:

<?php echo $r['info']; ?>

Change it into this:
<?php
//Triggering Content Plugins
JPluginHelper::importPlugin('content');
$myItem = &JTable::getInstance('content');
$dispatcher = &JDispatcher::getInstance();
$myItem->text = $r['info'];
$results = $dispatcher->trigger('onContentPrepare', array('com_vikbooking.showprc', &$myItem, &$params, $page = 0));
$r['info'] = $myItem->text;
//
echo $r['info'];
?>

Hope this will be helpful.

I tried this workaround on Joomla! 3.1.1 and changed
components/com_vikbooking/views/roomdetails/tmpl/default.php on line 44 (<?php echo $room['info']; ?>) to the code above.

- the code strips out the detail information and the custom module pos. is not being loaded. (plugin Content - Load Modules is of cause activated)

Could we work on the correct code ? For me that would be a crucial workaround to show more images of a room (VERY important if you rent apartments)

Thx a lot :)
Staff E4j
That should work with Joomla 3.x as well. Make sure you are doing it before the line 44 and replace $r['info'] with $room['info']
That code will trigger all the content plugins so {loadposition POS_NAME} will work.
Apartments Leut
Thx for the superfast support :)
replacing $r['info'] with $room['info'] did the trick in the room details template. room info are now being shown and the module position loads.

Now I´m struggling with possible script conflicts. Yoothemes Widgetkit Gallery "spits" out a "TypeError: a.slideshow is not a function" in Firebug. I might test other image galleries but would prefer to use just widgetkit among all content pages on the site.

Vikslider does not seem to work on Joomla 3.X > windows ils server (500 error)
Apartments Leut
Update to my last reply:
Using the free jquery plugin:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/performance/jquery-scripts/18327
solved the conflict

With your workaround above not only load modules work but also shortcodes from other componets (in this case widgetkit by yootheme)

I now have a fully featured responsive gallery widget within the apartment details page :)

Hello,
I don't want to receive payments on paypal via credit card and not even with a bank transfer. I want the people to pay on arrival.
How can i tell to pay upon arrival instead of via credit card or bank transfer?
Thanks

Staff E4j
Hello,

You can just use the method of payment Bank Transfer and rename it into something like
"Pay Upon Arrival"
You can also add notes to the payment and your customers will read them in the order page.

I have a question.
How can i give an apartment room for 5 people to 4 people at the same price as they were 5?
For some rooms i need the different usage price but for other rooms i don't want to give discounts or charges if there are less people.
Thanks!

Hello,

You always have to put the maximum rooms capacity then, if you don't want to give discounts for a different usage of the room, for less adults than the maximum capacity of the room, just don't insert any value for the different usages and the price of the room will not change.
