I'd like to set up VIK Booking for two Guest houses with several appartments. Is that possible, or do I need to install two instances?

Hi,
You can easily set up VikBooking with several apartments on the same website. You can use the Categories in case you would like to list or separate your apartments differently. Otherwise you can just have multiple apartments on the same list without using the Categories as if they were different Room Types.

Hi,
I made two room options, toeristtax and a additional option for diner. The toeristtax is vissible but the diner option isn't

I checked the demo site and made the diner option similar to the bottle champaign.
I cleared my webbrowser cache and my website cache.

Please help me out here?

Hi,
I think you simply need to assign the Option called "Dinner" to your room(s).
If the other option for Tourist Tax is visible (and forced to be selected) then it's because the other option is not assigned to your rooms.

I have a question about Vik Booking. I didn't see the datepicker on the website. I followed the steps which have been described at "Conflict - How to fix javascript conflicts", but the problem still persist. What can I do more? Can you help me? Thanks for help!

Hi,
You should try to install a third party plugin called "jQuery Easy" to fix the Javascript error that you are having.
Also, by looking at the source code of the page, you should be able to find the .js file that loads another basic jQuery library after the extended jQuery UI library has been loaded. That's the file that causes the conflict and should not be called there. Hopefully jQuery Easy will work for you, just make sure to make it load both jQuery and jQuery UI which is needed to render the datepickers.

A few months ago I asked the question above. Thank you for the answer. After a long time I've tried different things to help to problem. Unfortunately all the solutions didn't work. I've tried every test, nothing worked. I know the problem: There's a conflict with the javascript of the template (a friend told me also). Could you please help me again? I didn't see any other solutions than asking you for help. Many thanks!

I have a question about VIK Booking. Is the "Offline Credit Card" safe? Is there any SSL Certificate or comparable?

Staff E4j
Hi,
The payment option Offline Credit Card is a PCI-compliant method of payment so yes, it is safe.
However, that payment option is not linked to any bank gateway and it's only meant to collect the credit card details of the customer. Because a real transaction will not take place on your website, an SSL certificate is not required but only recommended.
Some of the credit card details will be stored in the database while the remaining part will be sent via email to the administrator. This is what makes the payment option PCI-compliant but if you had your pages in HTTPS with an SSL certificate, the PCI-compliance level would be surely better.

Hi,
The Javascript error that your browser console is reporting is probably caused by a module or a plugin that you have published on your site.
To fix this Javascript conflict you should disable the setting "Load jQuery" from the parameters of all the modules of VikBooking (and others if they have it) and the same setting should be enabled from the Configuration page of VikBooking.
If you keep having problems then you should consider using a third party plugin called jQuery Easy to fix such Javascript issues.
If you take a look at the Documentations page on our website, you will find an article that shows how to find the .js file responsible of this conflict that for sure is being loaded by another module/plugin.

Staff E4j
Hi,
If you are not seeing any form for entering the credit card details after selecting the payment option "Offline Credit Card" then it's probably because the setting "Auto-Set Order to Confirmed" is enabled. That setting should be set to NO so that users can submit their credit card details.
The details will be sent partially via email to the administrator address and the rest will be stored in the database for PCI-compliance. The rest of the card number will be displayed in the booking details page of the Administrator section.

Hi,
Both the Rates Table and Special Prices tasks are not related to a specific year but rather to the months. In fact, the default rates per night and the charges/discounts of the Special Prices will be applied in 2014, 2015, 2016 and so on..
In the next version 1.5 we will include the possibility of creating Special Prices tied to certain years so for example only to 2014 or 2015. This new version will be released very soon so it's just a matter of time if you need to create different costs for the 2015 only.

Is it possible that we don't use a payment gateway.
we only need email without payment gateway.

Or it is possible that we use a payment gateway called payment on site, when the guest arrive.

Staff E4j
Hi,
Yes, that is possible. You should rename the method of payment "Bank Transfer" into anything like "Pay on Arrival". That payment option is not connected to any bank gateway but it will let you give your customers additional information with the Notes field and you can decide what the status of the bookings should be, either Pending or Confirmed.
You could also unpublish all the methods of payment but this way all the bookings will be saved with a Confirmed status.

Hello
I'm having problem with translation of custom fields. I'm using Falang but I do not find the way to translate them. Could you pls help me?

Many thanks and best regards

Staff E4j
Hello,
You don't need to use Falang for translating the Custom Fields into multiple languages because the Title of the custom fields can be read from a definition in the .INI translation file.
Basically, instead of calling your field "Address1" you should give it a title from the back-end of something like "FIELDADDRESS1" and then you will be able to translate it from the .ini files like this:
FIELDADDRESS1="Address 1"
You should do the same thing for your other language files to have them translated.

Hi,

Two questions:

Would it be possible to restrict booking to periods of 7 days, starting Saturday - Saturday?

Is paypal gateway included, or should I purchase that separately?

Thanks,
Kristoffer

Staff E4j
Hi,

Yes, you can easily restrict bookings to periods of 7 days and force the arrival day to a Saturday with the Restrictions. You can find that task in the administrator section of the demo website.
PayPal is included in VikBooking so you don't have to purchase it separately.
