Here's a list of all the new features, enhancements and bug fixes.

Improvements

  • Added framework to check blocked IPs and Hosts (it relies on external free services).
  • It is now possible to block a list of user-agents as well as connections that don't provide that header.
  • Added support for htaccess login for back-end.
  • Added recovery system to let an administrator bypassing the security restrictions temporarily.
  • Added a parameter to choose if the password should be obfuscated (within a report) after a failed authentication.
  • Added Denied Countries parameter to blacklist certain countries.
  • Added notifications system.
  • Added blocking system to avoid multiple registrations incoming from the same IP.
  • Added New Registration report.
  • Added System Info scan rule (total files count, total server size, database, tmp folder check and file/folder permissions).
  • Added a setting to block the possibility to create new Super User accounts.
  • Added support for Proxy headers.
  • Some reports are now able to display the referer URL (within the full description).
  • Code Obfuscation rule owns a new parameter to skip the files with a size higher than a given amount.
  • A confirmation prompt is now displayed when the users try to leave the page during an active request.

Bug Fixes

  • Joomla Safe Heading rule has been enhanced to find the first real PHP command.
  • Security rules have been fixed. In case the known pool is empty, the rule won't overwrite the configuration file anymore.
  • VikSecure is no more dispatched when external plugins, components or modules perform AJAX requests.

Add-ons

  • Added new grade layout within the dashboard module, which helps you to check the security level based on the configuration of your VikSecure.
  • Added new SpamHaus plugin to evaluate whether a remote address is contained in a XBL database.
