Hello,
the easiest way to print a list of the attendees of a certain event is to export the reservations of the event in CSV format from the administrator section. You will then be able to open the exported file with any software like Excel, OpenOffice, Numbers etc..
From the administrator section, task Reservations, filter the results by event, eventually by day and/or session and then click on the CSV Export button to download the file. The exported CSV file will contain the information of each attendee collected through the Custom Fields.

What modules does the package come with?

Hi,
VikEvents comes with 5 modules and the plugin for the Joomla search component. The modules are the following:
mod_vikevents_calendar
mod_vikevents_upcoming
mod_vikevents_nextevents
mod_vikevents_categories
mod_vikevents_slider

I have just purchased and installed Vik Events. I think that the module has some great potential. There are a couple of things that I have encountered that need fixing. The first is that after I had setup two events, I then changed the date format in the Configuration to display differently. I then noticed that the event would give me the error that the dates are past when I was editing the event. The dates have not passed and this appears to be a bug. The second thing that I have encountered is when you are creating custom fields. If you happen to be changing the only field in a group to another group. The field disappears and there is no way to go to the other group to make sure that it moved groups properly. The page simply says that there aren't any fields and the Group selector is gone.

Thank you,

Ron

Hi,
the first issue is caused by the fact that some Configuration settings are saved in the PHP session so with the same browser you are not going to see the new changes being applied immediately, you should use a different browser to see the new Configuration settings.
About the second issue, that is another problem caused by the PHP session but it's true that Group selector of the Custom Fields should remain on that page even if there are no fields. We will check this.

Hi,
Awesome extension!

I am using Vik Events for our Summer Camp registration at our school with 33 different events to choose from.

My question is, will there be a possibility to have an "add to cart" feature allowing the customers to select and purchase multiple event registrations in one credit card transaction?

We have many parents purchasing multiple events for their children but have to enter their credit card info multiple times which can be frustrating. I understand that this extension was designed for single event registration and purchase but wondered would this be possible?

This would be a cool feature to add if possible.

Thanks

Chris

Hi,

We will consider your request for the next version of the program. The database structure will have to be modified a lot because right now it is not possible to pay once for multiple events registrations. The records of the orders table are only tied to one event registration but we will think of something for the next versions of the program.
Ron Mcdaniel 4-24-14 19:34
I agree, this would be great. We have several vendors that like to purchase multiple booths for our conferences during the same event.

Has any further thought been put into this? Any chance we'll see it in an upcoming version?

Thanks

Hello

Has any further thought been put into this feature?? Your VikEvents software is excellent, however I have a client that needs multiple events to be added to a single registration to make it easier for their customers.

For this project I may have to use a different component such as MijoEvents that lists 'Multiple event booking at once' as one of the features in their software. However overall I would really prefer to use VikEvents.

I understand it would take a lot of work to have an add to cart functionality for events but it would really be a great feature to have.

Please let me know if there is a chance of this in the near future?
Staff E4j 7-21-15 23:14
@Gem: this function has been requested by a lot of our clients so it will be included for sure in the next version of VikEvents.
We will build a sort of an add to cart functionality where users will be able to send one payment to confirm all their reservations. This will still give the possibility to any user to book an event for a certain amount of participants, together with other events for a different number of participants.
Gem 7-22-15 03:14
Hi - that is great!!

Do you have any idea on when the next version may be available?

Thanks

How to delay the login (for event with tickets), until the real reservation. User want to see the free seats, and then to decide to make reservation.

Unfortunately it is not possible to move the registration/login phase to a later step of the reservation because when the system renders the seating map, the free seats will be selectable and for this reason it's required to have the users logged in as it's not safe to rely on a PHP Session ID, using the logged in User ID is way safer and will not cause any problems on any PHP configuration.
However, the registration process of VikEvents is really fast and the users are automatically logged in. Also, registrations could be handled by any component and the system will recognize and authenticate any valid Joomla user.

Hello! Is there a way to manage seats that are initially unavailable for reservation, but become available shortly before the event happens? For example, say I have 10 seats available for a concert. I'd like to have seats 1-5 available to be reserved for a month prior to the concert, but I'd like seats 6-10 to be considered "special seating", and only available for reservation 1 week before the concert. Is there an automated way to handle that?

Hello,
unfortunately it is not possible to "unlock" some seats automatically after a certain date. The seats 6-10 should be kept as "locked" by creating a reservation from the administrator section so that only the seats 1 to 5 will be available for booking. Then, one week before the concert starts, you will have to remove that reservation and the seats from 6 to 10 would become available.
You can only have different prices for the tickets within a certain date (with the option Early Bird of the Multiple Prices) but it is not possible to have some seats available after a certain date automatically.

Hi Folks. I found an old question regarding allowing an administrator to add booking, to which you replied: "Right now VikEvents limits one order per event per client. It's just a security measure, one line of code but we might implement something in the next version 1.3 to let a few users make more than one reservation per event".

Was something like that ever implemented? It is something I need as well.

Also, it there an ability to restrict the number of tickets per user per event. We would like some events set up to only allow two total tickets per event for each participant, and others with no restriction.

Hi,
You can still limit one order per user per event but from the Configuration it is now possible to disable this limitation so that users are allowed to place as many reservations as they want. This configuration setting is applied globally to all the events.
It is not possible though to restrict the number of tickets per user per event if you want to consider multiple reservations that the user might have placed. Instead it is possible to define the maximum number of tickets that can be purchased with one reservation. You can do this from the parameters of the event.
The latest version available is the 1.5 but our team is currently working on the new version 1.6 that will be released soon.

Hi,
When the PDF file containing the tickets is being generated, Joomla will load the .INI language file for VikEvents, for either the administrator section or for the front site, depending from where you are using VikEvents. The language file loaded will be the one for the current active language so in your case if some contents are not in English then it's because you have a different language set as Default.

Hi,
I need to set up two payments type.

1. The general public would use paypal, with auto-confirm = false, so everything just works normally.

2. I would like to enable sales ticket at our POS (point of sale). So people can pay in cash, check, etc., directly to a cashier. Then the cashier would just enter the information in site using the Vik components. Maybe this could be set as a payment that has auto=confirm=true, but I don't want that payment option available to the general public.

How can I set this up?

Or is there a better way of implementing this set up?

Thank you,
-Nahur

Hi,
You could use the payment method "Bank Transfer" and rename it into something else like "Cash" for example and the setting Auto-Confirm should be disabled.
The problem is that the payment method would be available also for general public and you don't want that so I think the easiest solution is creating a reservation from the administrator section. Just click on New, enter the names of the participants and if you are using the seating maps you will be able to assign a seat to each participant. The status of the new reservation will be pending and if you want you can set it to Confirmed still from the Administrator section, maybe when the payment has been received at your point of sale.
Payment Methods can be assigned to different Events, not to certain Users so I think that's the only solution.
Nahur 2-18-14 20:36
Hi, thanks for the suggestion.
I did this.
I create a user called cashier.
I also create a cashier.php just like the "bank transfer".php file.
Then I changed one of the views to only display the cashier payment type if the user logged in is "cashier".
It is a cheap way to get what I needed and it works!
But that gave me an idea for a feature.
You could set Access Control List of the payments per user.
That would be great.

Hi,
Yes, VikEvents supports multiple languages but Joomla will only load one language file per time so if you want to have definitions like "Tickets for..." in two languages then you should change them and add the translation next to it.
For example: "Tickets for.../Billete para..."
The descriptions of your events should contain two languages as well. Of course this counts only if you want to have the website in two languages at the same time, if you are okay with having your customers select their language then you just need to use the native Joomla functions and the .ini language files.
